You may have noticed that Merseyrail has opened a Book Exchange at Manor Road station (in the
waiting room). The purpose of the Exchange is to encourage more people to read and anyone can
choose a book, read it and then pop it back either there or at another Book Exchange on one of
We have “adopted” the exchange at Manor Road and will help look afer it. This
will mean some of our pupils (the 'Manor Road' team) walking to the station on a regular basis, under
supervision, to keep it tidy and maintain it. We are also looking for donations of second hand
books with which to keep the exchange stocked. These can be both adult and children’s books.
If you have any books to donate then please bring them to school and Mrs Love and
her Manor Road team will organise for them to become part of the scheme.
The Manor Road reps main their first visit just before Christmas and are now busy designing posters and pictures to decorate the shelves. The reps said that they really enjoyed visiting the station and making the posters so far.
We will be visiting the station again shortly to take the books that have been generously donated and to decorate the shelves.
