Church Links- St Hildeburgh's

Reverend Paul gets in the festive spirit!

We were lucky to have Mr Ham and Reverend Paul in school today to lead us in a very colourful worship. Our pupils enjoyed decorating Rev. Paul and getting him into the Christmas spirit! They told us about the exciting things that will be happening over Christmas at church.

Being a Church School

Being a Church School plays an important role in the way we educate children - underpinned by distinctive Christian Values. Whilst we are a Church School and we support Anglican beliefs, we are also a community school and welcome children and families of all, or no faith.

We are very lucky to have our Church St Hildeburgh's, within walking distance. We hold services such as Harvest, Christmas and Easter services at Church. Many of our children also attend the newly introduced 'Messy Church' which is great fun - please check St Hildeburgh's website for upcoming dates. Messy Church is a chance for families to come into Church and take part in fun activities on a very informal basis, there are fun art and craft activities, songs, food and you even get to make a 'messy pudding'!

We have a variety of ways in which we worship at school; Collective Worship, class led worship, classroom based worship and celebration worship. During worship, we offer children a chance to reflect, be still and think. We will also pray and refer to passages from the bible as well as showing what other faiths believe, allowing children choices in what they may choose to believe.

Through educating children in a Christian ethos, we aim to develop children who will go forth to become responsible, spiritual, moral, citizens who will have a positive impact on society after they have left primary school and in their adult life.
