8th March 2019

Y5/6 have had a busy week this week.

The Year 5's completed amazing some art work on Wednesday as part of a project for Hoylake Festival of Firsts.  Watch this space for more information about how and where you will be able to see the finished project!

Thursday was World Book Day and we had a great time reading with our buddies and writing our own stories, that we hope to share with some of the younger children in the school.

Today (Friday) we completed our Active Circuits as part of the school's NSPCC fundraising activity day.   Some of us were quite exhausted after all that intense activity!

The "Best Bits" from this half-term

Today we shared the "Best Bits from the whole of this half-term, since the Christmas holidays. Here are some of the things we shared, in no particular order:-

"Maths, because I just love maths!"

  "Making our cuneiform tablets"

  Going to the disco

"Doing our pop art topic because I love working with the bright colours"

Taking part in the TTRockstars Battle of the Bands

  Going to the swimming gala

Infact almost everything that we have done in Y5/6 this half-term has been a "good thing" for someone!

After another hardworking, successful and fun half-term. We hope everyone enjoys their break and is looking forward to more of the same next half-term.

Y5/6 really loved learning about The Sumers! We made cuneform tablets using clay

We had loads of fun sieving and creating our own fun mixtures of healthy snacks

Reading Buddies

Year 5 read to F1! We had so much fun

Awesome Afternoons

The "Best Bits" for this half-term

At the end of every day we share the "Good Things" that have happened, the things we have learnt, enjoyed or have made us feel good about ourselves.  On Friday we shared the "Best Bits from the whole of this half-term, since September. Here are some of the things we shared:-

  • "Surprisingly our PE unit on football" - from someone who didn't think they would have enjoyed this most!
  • Our Art units on Jackson Pollack and Alexander Calder were mentioned by alot of pupils.
  • The Military Style sessions we have been taking part in on Wednesdays were a popular highlight.
  • Our House Competition day on Friday also got lots of mentions!

We have had a hardworking, successful and fun half-term. I hope everyone enjoys their break and is looking forward to more of the same next half-term.
