Year 1/2

Wk 13.07.20

We cannot believe that it is the last week of term! We have loved seeing photos of the different things you have been doing at home and it has been great to see lots of you in school.

We have absolutely loved teaching you all throughout your time in Year 1 and Year 2.  We cannot wait to see you all in September.

Year 2- you will have the most amazing time going into the Juniors!

If you would like to do any work over the holidays, please look under the 'Learning from home' section, Year 1/2 and you will find lots of the home learning packs there and links to websites you can use.  There is also a lot of work set on Purple Mash that you can complete and TT rockstars.

Have an amazing summer.

Mrs Pillow, Mrs Heaton and Miss Burgess.

Wk 18.05.2020

Hello Year 1/2. How are you all? We are all missing you so much and have continued to love looking at all the work and blogs you have been doing on Purple Mash.  There are new TT rockstar battles this week- I wonder if you can beat the teachers???

This week it is Mental Health Awareness Week.

The theme is 'Kindness'.  We would love to hear all about the lovely, kind things you are doing at home.

There are some activities below that you could have a go at doing too.

Look after yourselves and share your kindness with everybody.

This week is  also British Sandwich Week!  Can you have a go at designing a yummy sandwich at home and then make it with your family?  I would love to hear about your amazing sandwiches as I could do with some inspiration!  My favourite has got to be cheese and pickle. Yum!

Hope you are all well.

From the Year 1/2 Team

Here are some more links for some exciting things that you can do at home.

Enjoy!

Hello Year 1/2!

We hope you are enjoying your time learning from home.  We have loved looking at some of the work that you have been completing; keep it up!

Continue working through your home packs of work but don’t forget about your online work too!

On Bug Club, we have been setting you books plus Science and grammar activities.

On Purple Mash, we have set you lots of 2Dos.  Make sure when you have completed them, you press ‘hand it’.  It has been lovely to see some of the animated books and information pages about Hoylake that you have been completing!

On Timetable Rockstars, there is a super challenge for Year 1s and Year 2s. Teachers versus children!  Miss Burgess has been checking it every day and is very impressed with your scores!  Who will win?

We have added some links below of extra web pages and activities that you might want to check out.

Take care,

Year 1/2 team :)

 1.4.20

Good morning year 1/2, I hope you are enjoying the activities that have been set this week. Mrs Heaton has been enjoying brushing up on her times tables on TT Rocks. A Y2 Girls v Boys battle has been set up so have a look at that. Keep reading, reading, reading, even if it is a story you share with a grownup. Don't forget to share what you have been doing on our school's twitter page @HoylakeHolyTrin.

2.4.20

Good afternoon Y1/2,

I thought it would be a nice idea to look back at the books we've been learning about in English this last term.

Miss Burgess/Mrs Pillow's groups: "Where the wild things are"

Mrs Heaton's group: "The Snail and the Whale"

Perhaps you could have a go at retelling the story, drawing a picture of a character and describing it or drawing a scene from the stories and describing it.

Post your creations on our twitter page.

I know Mrs Heaton's English group loved "The Snail and the Whale" as I'm sure Mrs Pillow's and Miss Burgess' groups loved "Where the wild things are".

Take care

Y1/2 Team
